the ontario experience
Starting in Toronto in January of 2000, the program began slowly and methodically in order to "design" it in a way that would be beneficial to the seven high profile charities that were initially involved. Throughout the first year, the number of fundraisers ranged from 10 at the beginning to over 100 at the present time. By the end of 2002, there will be over 150 Charity Ambassadors working under the Fundraising Initiatives Community Fundraising Program in Canada. The Fundraising Initiatives Ambassadors fundraise in Ontario, Manitoba, Alberta and British Columbia and in 2003, we also plan to launch the program in the Maritime Provinces.
There are now over 20charities and non-for-profit organizations in Canada that have joined the program and some of these include: the Hospital for Sick Children Foundation, the Canadian Liver Foundation, the Canadian Hearing Society, the Canadian Nature Federation, the Canadian Foundation for Aids Research, the Canadian Bible Society, Care Canada, and the Toronto Humane Society to name a few. Please review the section under "COMMUNITY PARTNERS " for a listing of charitable organizations that we work for.
Wouldn’t it be nice if charities could concentrate on finding a cure, helping the elderly, the needy and the socially disadvantaged, or saving the endangered without worrying about funding from year to year? By working with the Fundraising Initiatives Community Fundraising Program, they can. The Fundraising Initiatives Program creates a reliable income stream for charities. We make things easy for you, and we get results!
