program overview

The Charity Ambassador Field Force is comprised of full-time employees who undergo an extensive training program and who participate in ongoing training and motivational sessions to prepare them for the rigors of community fundraising. The charities are asked to take part in the training of the Charity Ambassadors - in essence they assist in "training the trainers". Charities that are already in the program, as well as new ones signing on, are always welcome to participate in ongoing training or just meet with the fundraisers to see how motivated and excited they are to be part of this unique community initiative.

Each representative (Ambassador) has a photo I.D. that must be clearly visible when they are at the door. On a typical day, a Charity Ambassador will knock on 100 to 120 household doors, speaking to 40 to 50 potential donors.

Charity Ambassadors go door-to-door from 12:00 noon until 8:30 pm asking potential donors to make a monthly pledge to one of the charities represented. One charity is presented at one time and the Charity Ambassadors inform the individual about the benefits to the charity of making a long-term pledge. They are trained to provide information about each charity, but do not make recommendations that would persuade the donor to support one charity in preference to another.
